What is Techne?

Techne brings together hands-on labs and exercises built around realistic systems, real-world threats, and the kinds of cases security practitioners face. Members learn by working through the challenge, not just reading about it.

Ways to train

Boxes

An isolated, intentionally vulnerable machine. Follow a multi-step path to gain access, escalate privileges, and complete the objectives.

Network

Explore enterprise-style networks that can include Linux servers, databases, file shares, Active Directory, and CI/CD pipelines. Trace a path through connected systems.

Exercises

Small challenges in web security, cryptography, forensics, reverse engineering, and more. Each exercise helps you practice a specific skill.

Latest Threats

Practice against recent CVEs and vulnerabilities. Learn how the flaws work and keep your skills current.

Frameworks behind the practice

Labs connect hands-on work to recognized web, API, and adversary frameworks.

OWASP Top 10

The OWASP Top 10 is an awareness guide to major security risks in web applications. It brings recurring weaknesses, such as broken access control and injection, into a shared language so developers and testers know what to investigate and why it matters.

API Security Top 10

This framework focuses on risks specific to application programming interfaces. It covers issues such as broken object-level authorization, authentication failures, and unsafe API consumption, helping teams identify how exposed endpoints and integrations can be abused.

MITRE ATT&CK

MITRE ATT&CK is a knowledge base of adversary tactics and techniques grounded in real-world observations. It connects what attackers try to achieve with how they operate, giving practitioners a common way to describe, investigate, and simulate behavior across an attack.
